I received a book to review titled "Aliisa's Letter" written by a Christian L&D nurse that ended up assisting with homebirths. This is not a non-fiction, it is total fiction, however, I am excited that there is a reputable book written by a reputable source hitting the Christian book market. When I am done-which will be soon-I'll review it and put it up on my blog as well as link to my fb page. Here is the link to the book: http://www.christianbook.com/aliisas-letter-legacy-of-faith/carol-van-der-woude/9781414115313/pd/115313?item_code=WW&netp_id=830870&event=ESRCN&view=details

What is interesting is what is written in the books press kit about the book and author. "Frustrated with the high occurrence of interventions at the hospital, including heavy use of pitocen, delivery nurse Carol Van Der Woude (the books author) began assisting a group of doctors with home births. It opened her eyes to the truth. "God designed the female hormone system, the anatomy of a women's body and labor process. It's easy to lose sight of that when labor is aggressively managed in the hospital." She said. "A woman's faith in God and appreciation for her body give her confidence in mothering." In her upcoming book, Aliisa's Letter, Carol addresses these issues. Wrapped in Finnish tradition, her story of a young delivery nurse's journey of faith contronts our culture's approach to sexuality and childbirth while revealing a healthy perspective on birth and dying."

Does that not sound awesome or what? I was hooked by the 5th page-definately an engaging plot and charactors you will associate with from the beginnning. Just a heads up on a book I think you ladies will really enjoy!
