Dear Charity,
I would like to thank you for helping me to make people aware of a very unbiblical and, yes, even dangerous, doctrine. I have been a born-again spirit-filled Christian since I was 9 years old. My sister led me to the Lord after her conversion in 1977. My husband and three children are members in a foursquare Christian church in our area.
My sister was a strong believer who served the Lord fervently and her first love was to Jesus, secondly, her husband and children. Her first three children were born by c-section which led her to midwifery, which led her to a past client who mailed her the book Born in Zion. When she read this book she was immediately convinced that this was "so right!" and that it made sense to her. I was also excited about it at first and was encouraged by the many positive stories about such peaceful natural births at home. Although as time went on and I attended some of the birth meetings with her, I began to feel uneasy and to question some of the doctrine which I believe taught fear, not faith. Fear of anything that didn't line up with Ms. Balizet's teachings, not exactly what God's Word said. Also my sister and I used to be very close in spite of our busy lives, but as she got deeper into what she would call her convictions, there began to be a strain in our relationship to the point that when we did talk it was very surfaced...so unlike the way my sister really was. All because we were no longer of "like mind."
Eight weeks ago my sister died of a hemorrhage at seven weeks gestation with her ninth baby! She completely refused to call an ambulance and hemorrhaged in front of her daughter and friend. My sister said as she was bleeding "I'm dying...I'm dying." Then at other times when she was asked "What do you want us to do?" she said, " I want to live." "Just pray, and if you have any fear, leave the room." It was fear itself that was caused by Ms. Balizet's teaching that wouldn't allow her to submit herself to a doctor's care who could have easily saved her life. Some may believe that it was her time to die, but I didn't. When I think of the scripture where Satan tried tempting Jesus by telling him to throw himself off the cliff and used God's own Word to try and convince Him that God would send his angles to deliver Him, I think ... "should we all be taking our lives into our own hands and demanding God to raise us from the dead?" No, God forbid.
I know that nothing I do is going to bring her back to us, but I can tell anyone who is into or considering getting into this "ministry" to please reconsider it. Don't get into it because it sounds good. It sounded too good to be true to my sister but the end result was death for her. Show ALL of Carol's teachings to your pastor and get feedback from mature, grounded Christians. As you do begin to question her "ministry," do not be surprised if you begin to feel confused at first, but recognize it as the enemy. This is NOT a faith movement but a FEAR movement that has NEW AGE overtones to it. All their "faith" is based on fear. I know because I saw it manifest in my sister and those who were into it with her. I continually pray that no other women become deceived by this teaching and have their life cut short like my sister.

                                       Sincerely in Christ Jesus,

                                                                            Elaine
